The view from my porch has looked like this for the better part of a month. I'm ready for the rain to go away!

Rain, rain, go away

I’ve had enough, can’t take no more

You drip and drizzle, leak and pour

Could I please have some sun today?

Tomorrow, too, if you don’t mind,

I’d like to see a sky of blue

And bask in light and warmth anew.

Can’t you go and leave me behind?

The whole world’s turned to muddy mush

My walks are more like “slip-n-slide”

It’s easier to stay inside

With all this rain my brain is slush!

No inspiration to be had

Rain makes my thoughts all gray and dull

I mumble, mutter, muse, and mull

All my writing’s  morose and sad!

So rain, rain, please just go away

I’d really like some sun today.
